The HR Professional Advice and Support team helps school leaders to support, develop and manage their employees in order to improve standards and achieve the strategic and operational goals of the school.
The team of HR Advisers have built strong, supportive professional and personal relationships with school leaders and recognise that on some occasions face to face, practical support is what is needed, as well as unlimited telephone and email advice. The service is highly valued by all who use it, which is reflected by the fact that the majority of Luton schools currently purchase the service.
Purchase of the HR Professional Advice and Support service will give schools, including their governing bodies or Trust Boards access to experienced and qualified HR practitioners in all employment procedures including performance and sickness absence management, facilitating organisational change and TUPE. The team also provide specialist advice on Safeguarding and managing allegations of abuse and on interpreting the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document, Burgundy Book and Green Book. Litigation by employees can result in high compensation costs to schools and our HR advice will ensure schools comply with the law, safeguarding them in employee litigation and allegations of unlawful practice. The team provide proactive support to find practical solutions to challenging or complex HR matters, including the tact or discretion required when more sensitive matters arise.
For an additional cost, the HR Adviser team run training sessions on Safer Recruitment, HR for Governors and on all HR policy and procedure. In house bespoke training can be negotiated to meet a specific need. Other services are also available for an additional cost, for example Coaching, Single Central Record Auditing, note taking at formal meetings and independent investigations.
